Desired Skills:

Because our lab is multidisciplinary, we welcome people with a range of backgrounds:

Technical Background (CS, BME, etc.): We are looking for strong coding skills in Python with experience in deep learning.
Clinical Background: We are looking for creativity in problem solving and writing skills, as well as a willingness to learn about the concepts of AI and deep learning (coding is a plus but not necessary).
Other: If you have another background, there may be a place for you! For example, design is important for human-computer interaction with AI.
All: Regardless of your background, we value a commitment to continual improvement (growth mindset) and willingness to give your best effort.

Even if you don't fit the above (e.g., you haven't had experience in deep learning), we encourage you to submit an application. All prospective technical lab members will undergo our lab's AI 'bootcamp' that consists of coding exercises to ensure you have the basic skills to be successful in research -- if you come from a non-technical background, you are also welcome to participate in the bootcamp to expand your skills.
